Today, we celebrate Father’s Day.
Fathers exude Your character.
They encourage others to get up when they fall.
They defend the family from harm.
They sacrifice their lives for the benefit of others.
We come to understand You by the remarkable fathers in our lives.
This day carries a depth of emotions.
Let us grieve with those who grieve and rejoice with those who rejoice.
I pray that your presence would be felt in a significant way.
Thank You for the superb fathers in our lives.
We honor the young dads.
We honor the elder dads.
We honor the single dads.
We honor the stepdads.
We honor those who have taken the roles of dad – grandpas, uncles, and other relatives.
Each has invested more than we can ever realize.
We take a moment to acknowledge our brothers and sisters struggling today.
The families grieving the loss of a dad.
The dads grieving a loss of a child.
The men who could not have children of their own.
The children who need healing from their relationship with their dad.
The dads living in distance from their children.
We weep with those who weep.
I pray a remarkable blessing of the fathers today.
Offer precious moments of joy.
Instill a deep sense of appreciation and gratitude.
May each father come to recognize the power of the gospel in their lives.
You modeled the love of the Father through Your death and resurrection.
We thank You for the fathers in our lives.
Amen
