Today, we celebrate Mother’s Day.
Mothers exude Your character.
They faithfully serve in countless ways.
They carry the burdens of others with compassion and empathy.
They fight for justice for the family.
We come to understand You more by the remarkable moms in our lives.
This day brings to the surface several emotions.
Let us rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep.
I pray Your presence would be felt in a significant way.
Thank You for the wonderful moms that we celebrate.
We honor the stay-at-home moms.
We honor the part-time and full-time working moms.
We honor single-parent moms.
We honor the stepmoms.
We honor those who have taken the role of a mom – grandmas, aunts, and other relatives.
Each has sacrificed more than we could ever realize.
We take a moment to acknowledge our brothers and sisters struggling this day.
The families grieving a loss of a mom.
The moms commemorating this day alone and from a distance.
The women who could not have children of their own.
The moms grieving the loss of a child.
May we live out Your call to weep with those who weep.
I pray a remarkable blessing over the moms of today.
Offer sweet moments of grace with family.
Instill a deep sense of appreciation and gratitude.
May each mom come to recognize the beauty of the gospel in their lives.
Your love comes to them out of Your death and resurrection as a gift.
We thank You for the moms in our lives.
Amen
