2020 has taxed our patience.
Uncertainty has exhausted us.
Debates have dehumanized our views of others.
Anxiety and worry weigh us down.
Lord, give us stubborn faith.
We realize we see through a glass dimly.
We confess that we often try to control what’s ultimately in Your hands.
You invite us to carry the yoke You give us.
The stubborn faith we need….
Sees the world differently.
Loves our neighbors.
Acts in radical faithfulness.
Prays acknowledging reality but striving in hope.
Lest we forget, You have walked us through the valleys.
Each of us has our own stories where we see You guiding us through the darkness.
You have answered thousands of our prayers, whether we realize it or not.
No, stubborn faith is not wishful thinking or rose-colored glasses.
It’s based firmly on the promises that You’re with us even when we don’t see You.
Jesus, You do not give up on Your people.
You endured the cross and rose again.
You know our deepest pain and mediate our needs to the Father.
You stubbornly remain present with us.
Remind us of the good news of the gospel.
So, Lord, today, give us stubborn faith.
Let us see what You see.
Let us love others as You would.
Let us live with hope grounded in the gospel.
Amen
