Joy comes in the morning, but why does the night seem so long?
Lord, we acknowledge those with hidden pain.
They walk all around us in our families, neighborhoods, churches, and workplaces.
Beyond their brave smiles and productive activity, they have wounds unseen.
Give us each the awareness to see those with hidden pain.
Let us have ears to hear and not quickly move past the conversations.
Help us to respond to your prompts to spend time with people.
We ask for Your help because You see the hidden battles in people’s lives.
To walk with pain is human.
Though we ask for the wisdom to see the pain in others, we know we have it also.
The pain motivates us to perform and gain approval.
Sometimes it causes us to withdrawal in fear.
Ultimately, You invite us to receive Your healing.
The Good News of the Gospel draws us to bring our brokenness to You.
We come to You with the hidden pain of ourselves and others.
You know the long wait for the morning.
Savior, we ask for your quiet presence in our lives.
Move us from asking to resolve the situation to find You.
Reveal to us our unhealthy patterns and motivations.
Guide us on the road to healing.
Amen
