How often do we focus on surface issues?
Beneath the surface, we have strongholds — ideas and beliefs that need to be destroyed.
Greed will keep us in scarcity.
Insecurity keeps us from our real identity.
Resentment and bitterness keep us from healing.
Pride keeps from the freedom of humility.
The list of strongholds could go on, but these deep-seated beliefs and ideas keep from becoming the person You intended.
So, Lord, we acknowledge what gets revealed needs to be healed.
Shine the light of the gospel inside our hearts and souls.
Remove these strongholds so we can become whole.
These beliefs filter our view of life.
They hold us back from authentic relationships from others.
They hold us back from the grace we need from You.
Teach us to take every thought captive.
Little do we realize the dysfunctional patterns of thinking in our minds.
Lord, let us confront our thoughts through the lens of the gospel.
We open our lives through Your Word and prayer.
Slow us down to listen to the people closest to us.
Give us ears to hear and eyes to see You.
Our world needs deep healing.
May it start with us — remove the strongholds in our lives.
Replace the lies with Your truth.
Only You can do the work of destroying strongholds.
Begin this change in us.
Give hope to a world that so desperately needs it.
