You have walked with us through this long road.
Through the shutdown and quarantine, You were there.
You know each of our fears.
You have listened to our worries and anxieties.
You are the God of the valleys, the peace in the storms.
Give us the strength to endure.
This season has wearied us.
Perhaps, You have stripped away our comfort and convenience.
You have called us to see the world differently and question our values.
We might gain greater clarity to love you and our neighbor.
As You invite us to endure in a pandemic, refine our hearts.
Uncertainty instigates questions.
How will school look this year?
Will professional sports finish the season?
Politics???
Will life ever get back to a semblance of normality?
How long will we have to wear masks?
In our anxiety and worry, we offer these questions and requests to You.
You have conquered the grave.
You have created the sun, moon, and stars.
You have come through faithfully in the past.
So, Lord, we ask for your strength to endure.
We are grateful for the thousand ways You have watched over us we have not noticed.
We offer our burdens in exchange for Your lighter load.
May this season clarify to us what matters most and deepen our faith in You.
Amen
