We acknowledge the disruption of Holy Week 2020.
This Monday has started with a series of unknowns.
When will the virus peak?
When will the normal life resume?
When will the economy recover?
When will the students go back to school?
We live a majority of our lives in the Monday-Saturday of Holy Week.
We long for a resurrection Easter miracle.
Jesus, You walked through this week embracing the disruption.
You know the pain, rejection, and betrayal.
Ultimately, You anticipated the suffering on the cross.
You know the anxiety of the Monday we face today.
So, we pray the prayer so many have prayed before, “Come Lord Jesus, Come.”
Help us to recognize the small graces of this week.
Though Easter has been disrupted, it still will happen.
Like so many figures throughout the Bible – Joseph, Ruth, David – You do some of Your most significant work behind the scenes when we least expect it.
Monday of Holy Week 2020 has started.
We commit this day and week to You.
Lord, be with us.
Amen
